Power goes out
Approximately 500 BELCO customers in Warwick were without power when a palm branch hit a power line yesterday.
The power line, which is on a mainline circuit in Warwick, was downed at approximately 2.30 p.m.
This left about 500 customers without power until 3.30 p.m. when the workers restored power to 75 percent of the customers impacted.
The remaining 122 customers had to wait until 6.05 p.m. for their power to be restored.
Bake sale and car wash on Saturday
Recruits of the Bermuda Police Service will hold a car wash and bake sale this Saturday to raise funds for King Edward Memorial Hospital's Sexual Assault Response Team.
Every year the Police Recruit Foundation Course raises money for a charity of their choice – this year they have chosen the Sexual Assault Response Team from KEMH.
The car wash and bake sale will be set up at Paget Shell Service Station on Middle Road from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday February 27.
After all of the funds have been collected a cheque will be presented to a representative of the Sexual Assault Response Team during the Recruits Foundation Course's Passing Out Parade which is scheduled to take place in March.
