Burglar fought

A woman was injured when she fought off a burglar who had broken into her Paget home.Police attended the reported burglary at a home in Tankfield Hill, on Wednesday morning.Officers spoke with the victim, a 41-year-old woman, who said that around 10.50 a.m. she got home and heard noises coming from the bedroom.

Police attended the reported burglary at a home in Tankfield Hill, on Wednesday morning.

Officers spoke with the victim, a 41-year-old woman, who said that around 10.50 a.m. she got home and heard noises coming from the bedroom.

When she went to look, she found a man in her bedroom. The woman tried to detain the suspect but ended up fighting with the man before he pushed her to the floor and ran off.

She suffered a laceration to the back of her head as a result.

The suspect is described as a light skinned black male of muscular build, approximately 6ft 1in with narrow eyes, a short hair cut, receding hairline, wrinkled forehead and hairy arms.

He was clean-shaven wearing long denim pants, a dirty white T-shirt, brown construction boots and is believed to be aged in his 30s.
