A survey of adult Bermudian residents found this paper to have "the best local news coverage" of any media outlet on the Island.

Completed in April this year and commissioned by The Royal Gazette after the Government axed its subscriptions and pulled its advertising from this paper, the numbers also show it is the most cost-effective method of advertising.

Some other numbers from the adult population of the Island included in the study are:

— 66 percent or almost seven in ten adults read The Royal Gazette every day.

— 35 percent read the Mid-Ocean News on Friday

— 35 percent read The Sun on its published days

The Royal Gazette also has the most popular website, with 30 percent of those questioned saying they had visited the site the previous month and 18 percent saying over the previous week.

Bermudasun.bm – 15 percent of those questioned said they had visited the website the previous month and nine percent the previous week

This paper also beats all TV stations, with The Royal Gazette getting an average reach each day of 66 percent of the Island's adult audience.

TV Stations watched any time, when the survey was done:

— ZBM TV-9 reached 41 percent or 19,800 people

— ZFB TV-7 reached 18 percent or 8,400 people

— VSB TV-11 reached 16 percent or 7,500 people

— Fresh TV-3 reached three percent or 1,400 people

— CITV TV-2 reached two percent or 1,100 people

When asked if they had listened to any radio at any time the day before the survey, those surveyed reported that:

— Hott 107.5 reached 23 percent or 10,800 people. The peak listening time is between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. when 16 percent of those questioned said they listened to the station.

— Power 95 reached 18 percent or 8,700 people. At the same time, the peak for Power was 12 percent of those surveyed.

— VSB-FM 106 reached 14 percent or 6,800 people

— ZBM-AM 1340 reached eight percent or 3,800 people

— ZBM-FM 89 reached seven percent or 3,300 people

— VSB-AM 1450 reached five percent or 2,200 people

— Bermuda Spirit 105.1 reached four percent or 2,000 people

— Magic-FM 102.7 reached three percent or 1,500 people

— KJAZ-FM 98.1 reached two percent or 900 people

– ZFB-AM 1230 reached one percent or 500 people.
