Cabbies urged to ignore survey

Bermuda Taxi Federation public relations officer Joe Brown said the organisation was dismayed that Government's third commission to look into the state of the taxi industry had sent out a "Taxi Fares Questionnaire''.

He said: "All of the questions in this survey have already been answered by the advisory committee in their report and the BTF during their meetings with the Minister.

"The BTF views this as another show of disrespect and contempt for the taxi owners and operators in this country.

He said the survey was another example of Government dividing "the owners of what could be, and should be, one of the most unified industries in these Islands''.

This was because Government knew they "will get dozens of different answers -- enough to hopefully say that there is no consensus in respect to taxi fare increases'', he said.
