Church group attends international camp in US
A total of 162 young people and staff from the Seventh-day Adventist churches in Bermuda travelled to Wisconsin in the US to participate in the sixth International Pathfinder Camporee earlier this month.
The Pathfinder Club is a worldwide programme organised and directed by the Youth Department of the General Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, which offers a wide range of learning experiences for young people.
According to a press statement, the Bermuda delegation joined over 36,000 Pathfinders for the camp just outside of Oshkosh, a small town 80 miles north of Milwaukee. The theme of the camp, which ran from August 10-15, was 'Courage to Stand' and the participants came from more than 100 countries.
Activities included exhibitions about nature-related themes such as birds, insects and edible plants, and also historical presentations and an obstacle course.
There was also involvement in the local community in the form of service projects, with the Bermuda Pathfinders helping out at a botanical garden.
