City will call election to replace councillors
An extraordinary municipal election will shortly be called to fill three vacancies for common councillor at the Corporation of Hamilton.
W. Carvel VanPutten, Graeme Outerbridge and George Grundmuller have all resigned from the controversy-blighted Corporation in the past four months.
Corporation Secretary Kelly Miller said in a statement: "With an upcoming election, we want to encourage all eligible residents and businesses to register as soon as possible to ensure participation in the election.
To be eligible to vote people must be at least 18 years old and a Commonwealth citizen or possess Bermudian status.
They must also be a Bermuda resident; occupy or own a valuation unit within the municipal area of Hamilton for at least three months prior to registration; be not more than three months in arrears in Corporation taxes.
