Consumer Affairs has recalled a coffeemaker because of fears that it could cause second degree burns.
Affected machines are Black & Decker Spacesaver Coffeemakers with the model numbers ODC440, ODC440B, ODC450 and ODC460.
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission found that the product posed a hazard because the brew basket could shift out of alignment, allowing hot water to overflow.
Those with the coffeemaker are urged to stop using it and, if they purchased it locally and have their receipt, take it back to the point of purchase for a replacement brew basket.
Consumers who bought the product overseas should contact Applica Consumer Products Inc. at (866) 668-4442 or visit www.acprecall.com.
