Cox to leave her job at Ace
Premier Paula Cox has handed in her notice to her employer, global insurance organisation Ace.
The newly elected Premier, who is also Finance Minister, yesterday said her new duties would be all-consuming, and that she has submitted her three-month notice to the firm she's served as corporate counsel since 2002.
She described the insurer as a "reasonable and pragmatic" employer which understood her departure was inevitable.
"We recognise that the role of Premier is all-consuming," said Ms Cox in a statement.
"I will miss my colleagues at Ace as a number of close friendships were forged there and I very much enjoyed the working environment."
Ms Cox added that she is no longer working at Ace on a daily basis and the relationship will be formally severed at the expiry of the three-month notice period.
