Delegation heads for Kenya

Premiership candidate Dale Butler is leading a Bermuda delegation to Kenya for a Commonwealth Parliamentary Association conference.

The nine-day event titled 'Parliament and Development in the 21st Century: Thus Far and Beyond', starts tomorrow and includes meetings for the Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians Group and the Society of Parliamentary Clerks.

Mr. Butler is joined at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre in Nairobi by United Bermuda Party MP Patricia Gordon-Pamplin, Government Senator Walton Brown and legislature clerk Clark Somner.

Workshops include the role of parliament in peace-building, energy and the environment, the effect of political corruption in small states, the challenges of sovereignty in small states and strengthening accountability in small parliaments.
