Dream wedding comes true
On the heels of the Perfect Ten wedding competition another couple will be saying 'I do' for free in Bermuda this month.
The Department of Tourism organised and sponsored ten weddings across the Island at ten hotels on October 10.
Participating couples won a competition on the wedding website The Knot.
This week a couple will marry at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess after winning Destination Wedding Magazine's 'Ultimate Dream Destination Wedding' competition to celebrate the fifth year of publication.
Dianne Gianotti and Adam Benerza received ten rooms at the Fairmont Hamilton and 20 tickets from Boston or New York on JetBlue.
They also won up to $10,000 towards their wedding ceremony and reception and a $1,000 gift card to Saks Fifth Avenue.
Miss Gianotti's winning essay stated: "Bermuda would be a perfect wedding destination for the two of us. We fell in love with the Island because of the Bermudian culture and people, pink sand beaches, romantic sunsets, fabulous food and restaurants and of course the luxurious hotels and hospitality.
"Bermuda represents past and hopefully future memories of our life together and we would love to celebrate our special day at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess."
The couple have dated for seven years and have stayed at both Fairmont properties on the Island.
Miss Gianotti said "afternoon tea at the Heritage Court was a delight" during her stay at the Fairmont Hamilton.
She added: "We loved staying at the Hamilton Princess since the downtown is only a short walk from the hotel we were able to shop and enjoy a few different restaurants in town without needing to drive or take a cab.
"The last day in Bermuda we lounged by the pool before catching our afternoon flight. We didn't want to return home! I recommend the Fairmont Hamilton Princess to anyone looking for an amazing hotel and vacation experience. I would also highly suggest experiencing the Fairmont Gold as the icing on the cake."
Bior Guigni, who is the wedding specialist at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess, said it has been a "pleasure" working with the couple.
"The couple will be receiving the Princess Katherine Package from our wedding guide. This is one of the three amazing inclusive packages. The couple will have a four-hour open bar, champagne toast, hors d'oeuvres [and] an extravagant six-course dinner, which is valued at $200 per guest. Their 35 guests will enjoy the ceremony, cocktail reception and dinner reception on our Regency Terrace, located directly on the harbour."
