Fairmont backs drink-drive prevention initiative

Fairmont Hotels Bermuda has joined with the Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse (CADA) to prevent drunk driving with the organisation pledging its support for the Let Us Drive programme.

CADA's free late-night transport for people who have been drinking in Hamilton runs every Friday between 3.15am and 3.45am.

Let Us Drive taxis are available outside the LOM Building on the corner of Reid and Burnaby Streets.

Seven out of ten deaths on Bermuda's roads are reported to involve alcohol or drugs.

CADA chairman Anthony Santucci said: "CADA is extremely pleased to have The Fairmont Southampton and The Fairmont Hamilton Princess continue their support of this important, life saving service.

"Since we introduced Let Us Drive in May, 2007 we have taken home more than 4,500 passengers and in the process saved countless lives."
