Father wants to set up website to help find missing son
A father whose son was taken from him more than six years ago is appealing for assistance setting up a website to help track him down.
Jasai Swan-Burrows celebrated his 12th birthday earlier this month, but his father Giovanni Burrows has still not seen him since he was aged five.
The youngster's mother, Kim Sakena Swan, took him on a flight to Atlanta on January 18, 2003, even though Mr. Burrows had been awarded full custody by a Bermuda court and she was only allowed to see him at weekends.
Mr. Burrows believes his son is still in the United States, where his mother is looking after him with financial help from friends and relatives.
He thinks if people who have come into contact with Jasai could learn the full facts of the case on the Internet, they may want to help reunite him with his family.
"You can't force people to talk, but all those people who are helping my son, all they are doing is hurting him," Mr. Burrows told The Royal Gazette.
"And what is going to happen when he does find out? He may be upset with them for not telling him about his father.
"I have not given up looking for my son. I do know who is keeping my son away from me. I just need help in getting the message across to people who can help."
He said a website could contain news coverage about the case, including video footage, but that he would need some expertise in setting it up.
Anyone who can help should e-mail him on giovanni1@transact.bm or call 504-1303.
