Flu shots available through express service from today
The Department of Health's annual Flu Express service begins today, but the first shipment of H1N1 vaccine is not expected until later this month.
Three new confirmed cases have been reported on the Island since October 25, bringing the total number of Bermuda cases to 16.
There have been no deaths on the Island attributed to the virus.
While the Department of Health said it would notify the public when the H1N1 vaccinations arrive, it will begin offering regular flu vaccines at the Somersfield Academy, in Devonshire today.
During the next two weeks, flu vaccinations will be available at various points around the Island. While the shots are free for seniors, they cost $10 for the rest of the public.
Shots will be available at Somersfield Academy on November 7 and 14, Pennos Wharf, St. George's on November 9 and 16, Warwick Clinic under the Rubber Tree on November 10 and 17 and at St. James Church in Somerset on November 12 and 19.
Shots will be available between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on all of the listed days.
