Help the planet by turning your lights off for an hour

Sustainability group Greenrock has set up a website devoted to Earth Hour when people in Bermuda are being ask to turn off their lights for 60 minutes.

The website www.greenrock.org/EarthHour2009 was launched to coincide with its newspaper and radio campaign designed to raise awareness of the event, on March 28 at 8.30 p.m.

"Greenrock is proud to launch our new Earth Hour Bermuda website, which will help individuals, businesses, schools and other organisations in our community learn more about what Earth Hour means from a Bermuda perspective," said Greenrock President Andrew Vaucrosson.

He added: "The site provides them with online tools and information to help them take action in Bermuda during and after Earth Hour."

Earth Hour is a global movement in which tens of millions of people around the world have pledged to come together to make a bold statement regarding their concern about climate change by turning off their lights for one hour at 8.30 pm.
