Hair and beauty students at CedarBridge Academy have a new piece of equipment to help them hone their massage and pedicure skills.

Willow Stream Spa at the Fairmont Southampton has donated a chair to the senior school's personal care teaching salon.

Teacher Janet LePage said: "The spa was installing new high-tech pedicure units and agreed to donate one of the former units, so that students who are taking City and Guilds hair and beauty courses could facilitate their learning with the use of the type of equipment found in a high-end spa or beauty salon.

"Willow Stream Spa and CedarBridge Academy are not strangers to each other; many former students have been employed at the spa and the knowledge and skills they learned in the personal care class at CedarBridge has stood them in good stead to fulfil the requirements of international and local clientele who patronise Willow Stream."
