Immigration chief retiring

Bermuda's Chief Immigration Officer is retiring after more than 20 years in the department and Government is advertising for his $150,000-a-year replacement.

Martin Brewer, who has worked at the Department of Immigration since 1987 and been Chief Immigration Officer since 1996, will finish work on February 20.

Dr. Brewer, of Warwick, turns 65 in March. He told The Royal Gazette he planned to enjoy gardening and sailing in his retirement.

His replacement will need to have a master's degree in business or public administration and at least five years' post-graduate experience; the closing date for applications is February 11.
