Island celebrates Human Rights Day

Bermuda yesterday joined the rest of the world in celebrating Human Rights Day.This year, the Human rights Commission joined with the Bermuda National Gallery (BNG) in hosting a ‘Human Writes’ workshop.Around 40 students took part in a creative writing exercise responding to what human rights look and feel like to them.

Around 40 students took part in a creative writing exercise responding to what human rights look and feel like to them.

Joanne Ball-Burgess, an Education officer at BNG, said: “We hope that this workshop is the beginning of allowing our children to realize that as artists/ writers, they have the power to convey new ideas to change our community to the better.”
