Jeremy Browne is the new UK Minister for Overseas territories
Liberal Democrat MP Jeremy Browne is the UK's new Minister for Overseas Territories.
Mr. Browne, MP for Taunton Deane, in Somerset, south west England, for five years and a former Liberal Democrat spokesman on Foreign Affairs, has been appointed Minister of State at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
He will work under Foreign Secretary William Hague as part of the coalition government between the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats.
His responsibilities will also include South East Asia and the Far East, Caribbean, Central America, South America, Australasia and the Pacific.
According to the FCO website, Mr. Browne grew up in a number of different countries including Iran and Zimbabwe and has a background in the private sector in finance and global communications.
Party positions he has held include Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury, while he has also been a member of the cross-party Home Affairs Committee.
As Minister for Overseas Territories, he replaces Chris Bryant, who held the position for just under a year until Labour's defeat at this month's election.
