June was the second wettest in 47 years, with 12.78 inches of rain falling during the month.
The Bermuda Weather Service yesterday confirmed rainfall last month was the second highest in recorded history, falling just short of the 14.18 inches which fell in June 1962.
"That's well above what we usually get," said meteorologist Nicole Hannon.
"The Bermuda Azores High remained to the east of the Island, closer to the Azores," said Ms Hannon. "Usually it's over us this time of the year, and that keeps the weather away from us."
She said storm systems have been stuck on the Island, causing the persistent rain.
Average rainfall for June in Bermuda is 5.03 inches. This year saw nearly half that amount, 2.37 inches, fall on June 24 alone.
