Companies Amendment Act 2006, section 3 — Financial secretary Donald Scott said: "The Registrar of Companies is addressing teething issues that were revealed when their electronic registration system went live in the summer of 2010." He said the plan was to resolve all issues by year-end and commence the section of the Act in January 2011.

Credit Unions Act 2010 — Mr. Scott said Bermuda Monetary Authority officials were "finalising the statement of principles and certain features of the regulatory regime with the BIU Credit Union" and that the common aim was to have the Act in effect from January 2011.

l Ministry of Health: Bermuda Health Council Act 2004, section 13 — Health permanent secretary Warren Jones said: "The Health Council Act is presently being reviewed and we anticipate taking legislation to the House during the upcoming session."

Pesticide Safety Act 2009 — Mr. Jones said the law could not be enacted until an amendment was made to the Pharmacy and Poisons Act. It is expected to be tabled in the next parliamentary session.

Evidence Amendment Act 2001 — Attorney General Kim Wilson said it appeared that the Act, which deals with the recording of court proceedings, had been superseded by other pieces of legislation. Court recording is in place in the Supreme Court and three of the Magistrates' Court, she added.

Justice Protection Act 2010 — The Justice Protection Unit, which will create new identities for and send abroad vulnerable witnesses in criminal trials, is in the process of being set up. The Act will come into force when the administrative process is complete, according to the AG.

Law Reform Commission Act 2009 — Senator Wilson explained last month that the upsurge in violent crime meant the establishment of a Law Reform Commission had been put on hold. She said her Ministry had recently resumed the task and she expected the process to be completed "within the next several months".

Proceeds of Crime (Anti-Money Laundering & Anti Terrorist Financing) Regulations 2008, regulation 4(b) — The AG said research and consultation was still ongoing in relation to the legislation and that this was expected to be done "no later than January 1, 2011".

Bail Act 2005 — sections 5, 7 (13), and 8 — Sen. Wilson said Police needed training in order to enforce the sections of the Act. She said the last batch of officers was undergoing training and she would post a notice in the Official Gazette on Wednesday.

Criminal Law (Abolition of Distinction Between Felony and Misdemeanour) Act 2005 — Sen. Wilson said the Act had sat on the shelf because it did not include a definition for the term "misdemeanour", so could have created confusion. She said it was not one of her priorities as Minister to bring it into force.

Police and Criminal Evidence Amendment Act 2010, sections 2, 3 and 4 — No answer received but the PACE legislation is being introduced in phases.

National Training Board Amendment Act 2005 — Acting permanent secretary Rozy Azhar said a notice announcing the commencement date of the law would appear in the next Official Gazette.

Hotel Concession (Wyndham Beach and Spa Resort) Order 2006 — No answer received but presumably won't come into force until work starts on the hotel development.

Motor Car Amendment (No. 2) Act 2010 — No answer received.
