Education Ministry to advertise a teaching post.

The advertisement, which appeared in The Royal Gazette yesterday, stated a teacher was required for the programme at the Primary Seven level until June 31, next year.

But Chief Education Officer Joseph Christopher declined to name the school involved.

As of September this year, all of Government's 18 primary schools adopted the modified middle school programme at what was the primary seven level.

Dr. Christopher said some 30 teachers had been trained in the programme.

"We had trained sufficient teachers for all the public schools,'' he explained. "But there were illnesses and other things, making some vacancies.'' He added that the post advertised was the only one he knew of which needed to be filled.

The Ministry has set October 23 as the deadline for applications.

WOMAN STOLE FROM PAY-CUTTING BOSS CTS Woman stole from pay-cutting boss A 20-year-old woman yesterday claimed that a $1.50 cut in her pay led to her stealing $25 from her employer.

Tiesha Douglas, of Middle Town Road, Pembroke, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to stealing $25 from the Heron Bay Pizza House on September 19.

Police prosecutor Sgt. Phil Taylor said the manager of the Pizza House saw Douglas taking something from the till.

Upon being arrested, Douglas admitted taking the money and putting it inside her purse at the end of her shift.

Sgt. Taylor said Douglas claimed she took the money because her pay was being decreased from $10 to $8.50 an hour.

Senior Magistrate Will Francis ordered Douglas to pay a $150 fine.
