Moonlight Movies return

The Moonlight Movie Series returns tonight through the sponsorship of the Bermuda Union of Teachers and City of Hamilton.

The series of outdoor movies was postponed last month by its producers Startime, who cited a need for additional sponsors.

A double feature is planned at Barr's Bay Park tonight when remakes of popular 1980s films 'Karate Kid' and 'Fame' will screen.

The event will start at 7 p.m. with music and children's activities. Food vendors will also be on hand. Show time is 8 p.m.

Additional sponsors have also ensured this Friday's event will not be the last Greenrock and the Family Council, as part of their Living Green Expo, will host the series finale at Botanical Gardens next weekend.

'How to Train Your Dragon' will be shown at 7.30 p.m. on October 16, followed by 'Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time' at 9 p.m.

The Living Green Expo continues at 11 a.m. the next day with live entertainment, educational booths, short documentaries, food vendors and family activities.

A documentary about the bottled water industry called 'Tapped' and the film 'The Ultimate Gift', will end the day.

A spokesman for Startime said: "Once again we would like to thank our sponsors, Cellular One, Ace, Validus Re, Bermuda Union of Teachers, the City of Hamilton, Greenrock, the Family Council and Bermuda Public Service Union for their contributions.

"We know that the community has been waiting for the series to resume and in our efforts to provide wholesome family experiences; we are pleased to have received some support.

"Pack your chairs, blankets and the entire family for this month's activities."
