Movember update: Ed Christopher
Hamilton town crier Ed Christopher got a clean shave on November 1 as part of his bid to raise money in support of men's health awareness.
He said losing his moustache was like losing part of himself, but it was worth it for a good cause.
As the herald for the City of Hamilton, Mr Christopher joked at the start of the month that a clean shave might crimp his style.
Now on holiday in Las Vegas, the crier said he was happy with his progress.
"It's too early yet to choose a style. I haven't decided that part. But I think it's coming back pretty well. I've got enough so you can see the grey coming through."
Mr Christopher has set himself a high sum to raise this month through sponsorship of re-growing his moustache.
Although not quite as ambitious as the more than $2 billion vowed by businessman Belcario Thomas, the town crier's pledge of $5,000 is higher than most.
To sponsor a moustache this month, make a donation on the Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre's website at www.chc.bm.
All the money goes toward prostate cancer and other men's health concerns in Bermuda.
