Mark Anderson is best known as the man behind the drag queen persona Sybil Barrington.

Despite that, he has always maintained a little facial hair.

This month, he decided to grow a bit more as part of Movember observances.

"I performed as Sybil Barrington at City Hall earlier this month. I don't think people really noticed until afterwards," he said.

"I've never had a moustache this thick. Not that it bothers me. But this is definitely the first time."

The performance artist is hoping his efforts will encourage men to cut down on drinking and visit their doctors more regularly.

Mr Anderson has so far raised $110 of his $500 goal. He vowed to get there by the end of the month eight days from now.

So far he hasn't picked a style for his Mo.

"Because I also work as a bus driver, everybody who gets on board has started telling me I'm looking more and more like my dad, with his bushy moustache. So maybe I'll get it like his. People will start mistaking us."

Mr Anderson is the son of legendary May 24 runner Neil Virgil.
