Police probe –sudden death
A Portuguese national was found dead yesterday morning at a Town Hill Road, Flatts home where he was working.
Officers attended the scene just after nine o'clock, where the man was pronounced dead by a doctor.
The 26-year-old was a guest worker, employed by a landscaping company. He was found by one of his co-workers.
Police were unable to reveal how the man died but this newspaper understands his death is being treated as a possible suicide.
A spokesman said: "A few minutes after nine, Police received a report of a non-responsive male being found on the property of 'Villa Monticello' on Town Hill Road, Flatts. It appears that a 26-year-old man was found but I don't want to identify the method [of his death].
"What I can say is that the man was a Portuguese national. He is a guest worker working with a local landscaping firm. "It appears that he was [at work yesterday] and one of his co-workers discovered his lifeless body. No other information can be given."
Asked how the Hamilton Parish man died, the spokesman said: "I don't wish to say anymore until his next of kin is notified."
The investigation is being conducted in conjunction with the deputy station commander, Inspector Calvin Smith, and the Serious Crime Unit."
Foul play is not suspected.
