Public are welcome to attend health insurance meeting
The future of Bermuda's health insurance system will be discussed by experts on Monday.
The Health Financing Summit, which is open to the public, will focus on issues of affordability and sustainability of the health care system in Bermuda.
Minister of Health Zane DeSilva said yesterday: "Recently, Bermuda's employers, workers, unions and retirees have wanted to know why health care costs are increasing so quickly compared to inflation, and what are driving these costs.
"The Health Financing Summit 2010 is designed to fully engage everyone who plays a role in Bermuda's health care system to participate in an informed debate on how these issues can be addressed and I invite everyone to attend."
Bermuda Health Council CEO Jennifer Attride-Stirling will speak at the debate as well as Bermuda Hospitals Board CEO David Hill. There will also be a panel discussion involving Argus CEO, Gerald Simons.
Students will start the day off with a debate at 8.30am while Mr DeSilva will end the day with remarks at 4.15pm.
