Seven local films in next month's BIFF Kids
The Bermuda International Film Festival (BIFF) Kids yesterday announced that seven Bermudian children's films will be featured in the line-up for the fifth annual festival.
The screenings will take place from Friday, October 17, to Sunday, October 19, and altogether 35 children's films from 15 countries will be featured.
Opening night will be at the Little Theatre, and then it move to the Tradewinds Auditorium at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute for screenings all day Saturday and Sunday beginning at 10.30 a.m. each day.
The film programme includes a feature film and a series of shorts for children aged three and up, a series of short films for children aged five and up, two features for the seven-year-olds and up group, two series of short films and a documentary for children aged eight and up, and a feature for the 11-year-old and up age group. An award-winning animated feature film from Spain called Nocturna will head off the programme on the Friday and it will also feature a costume parade with prizes for the best costumes. Children, and adults, are invited to come dressed in their favourite Halloween costume.
Start time is at 6.30 p.m. at Little Theatre, with the costume parade taking place at 6.15 p.m.
Other films in the line-up include: Kindertoons (three and Up), Legend of the Sky Kingdom (three and Up), Princesses, Hedgehogs — and a Girl With a Dream (five and Up), Where is Winky's Horse? (seven and Up), Out of Africa…and the U.S., Too (eight and Up), JUMP! (eight and Up), Around the World in 71 Minutes (eight and Up) and Paula's Secret (11 and Up).
Tickets for BIFF Kids will go on sale this Friday at Transact, Internet Lane, Reid Street, Hamilton and Picture Perfect, Heron Bay Plaza, Southampton. They will also be available online at www.bdatix.bm.

Tickets will be available from the ticket desk at Little Theatre from 5.30 p.m. onwards on the day of the first screening and from the BIFF Kids ticket desk in the lobby of the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute on Saturday October 18 and Sunday October 19 from 9.30 a.m. onwards.
