Short film shows the importance of our oceans

The Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute will present a screening of 'Once Upon A Tide' this evening.

The ten-minute educational film explains how all life on Earth depends on the health of the oceans, and was produced for aquariums, museums, schools and theatres.

This evening, the screening will be accompanied by a lecture by executive producer Kathleen Frith and a discussion on what we can do to preserve the health of our oceans.

Ms Frith is assistant director of the Center for Health and the Global Environment at Harvard Medical School, where she manages the Healthy Ocean, Healthy Humans programme. This aims to raise awareness about the human health connections to the ocean environment.

The film starts with a reception at 6 p.m. followed by a lecture at 7 p.m. Admission is $20, $15 for BUEI members, and a dinner package is also available at the Harbourfront restaurant. To make a reservation, call 297 7314.
