"I am pleased to present Elkeisha, Akilah and Princess with this prestigious award," says Jonathan Brewin, president and CEO of HWP.

""It makes me especially proud to recognise the children of HWP employees with this scholarship and I expect that Sir John Plowman would feel the same.

"I wish them every success in the approaching academic year."

The Sir John Plowman Scholarship was established by HWP in 1999 in recognition of Sir John Plowman's commitment to support young Bermudians in pursuit of their educational goals. The late Sir John was one of HWP's original partners and is credited with much of the company's early success. The scholarship fund sets aside $15,000 annually to be shared among eligible applicants.

To be eligible for consideration by the scholarship-selection committee, applicants must be the child of a full-time employee of the HWP Group residing with their parents. Additional criteria such as proof of Bermudian status and current academic standing are also required.

Michael Plowman, son of Sir John Plowman, said: "My father was a firm believer in the importance of education and he would be very proud today.

"Each of this year's recipients embodies high standards which I am hopeful will carry over in their studies at university. Our congratulations and best wishes go out t0o them."

The entire HWP Group would like to extend their congratulations and best wishes to the recipients.
