Volunteers sought for the Mirrors programme

A new campaign has been launched aimed at recruiting more volunteers to work in the Government's Mirrors programme.

This week, Mirrors staff and participants will be around the city promoting the 'Are You A Possibility' campaign in a drive to get members of the public to take part in the scheme.

On select days this week staff and participants of the youth development programme will be at the north roundabout with Johnny Barnes and will also have a free coffee and pastry booth in front of City Hall from today to Thursday from 7.30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Over the next nine weeks the Mirrors Programme will have an information booth in the Washington Mall on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11.30 a.m. until 2 p.m. and people are invited to stop by and learn more about the scheme.

Minister of Culture and Social Rehabilitation, Dale Butler said volunteers were the backbone of the programme, who are "heavily involved" in each phase. Approximately 75 to 95 volunteers needed to run a single cycle. "Volunteers choose to participate on the following four teams; Participant Enrolment; Residential; Life Coach; and Production."

He said: "I would like to invite the public to continue to support this amazing programme. Join us as we endeavour to build and sustain communities in this beautiful country."
