Woman driver reports she was threatened by biker
Police are investigating an incident where a motorcycle rider threatened a female motorist in Pembroke on Thursday.
According to an e-mail circulating yesterday, a man on a bike with a schoolgirl on the back drove alongside the motorist and tried to open the back door to take her handbag.
When this failed, the rider is said to have attempted to force the driver's window down and then verbally abused the woman and spat at the car window.
The complainant declined to comment on the incident yesterday when contacted by this newspaper, but said she has given a statement to the Police.
Asked for comment, a Police spokesman said: "It appears that two individuals on a motorcycle rode alongside the complainant's car on Parsons Road in Pembroke on Thursday morning, with the rider of the motorcycle allegedly making gestures and shouting verbal abuse before riding off."
He appealed for witnesses to the incident to call Hamilton Police Station on 295-0011.
