The Royal Gazette's Dare to Care campaign aims to make volunteering as simple as possible which is why we have compiled a list of fund-raisers and events you can support in the next two weeks.

Right now, there are several charities including Centre on Philanthropy currently trying to reach their goal of 400 volunteers in 400 days in need of support for upcoming events.

Many require little to no special skills, just a small commitment in time or money and interest in helping out.

If you are a movie lover you can volunteer with Bermuda International Film Festival (BIFF), who are currently looking for people to review film selections for the 2010 festival.

You need only watch the movies in groups of 3 or more, and rate each film from one to 10. Highly rated movies will be added to a shortlist and may move on to the festival in March.

People can sign up to serve on the reception desk for Centre on Philanthropy's Charity Shopping Night at Gibbons Company on Friday.

This commitment involves at least one hour of time between 8.30 a.m. and 9 p.m. For more information call The Centre on 236-7706.

On Sunday, Bermuda Girlguiding Association will be packing grocery bags and hosting a bake sale at Supermart on Front Street, from 1 to 5 p.m.

The proceeds will be going toward sending local girl guides to the 100th Anniversary International Camp in July 2010.

Anyone who can give an hour or two to help are asked to call 292-0675.

Also on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. is the Hands of Love Ministry 21st Annual Christmas Dinner on the Street at Bulls Head Car Park.

The charity is looking to feed 400 needy people this year and need volunteers to cook the meal (which includes local staples such as macaroni and cheese, turkey, vegetables, fruit and plain cake). Call 238-7368 to help.

People can also help out the Bermuda Botanical Society who need assistance with their visitor centre café from Thursday until December 31.
