$5,600 fine for two traffic offences a week apart
A 34-year-old Pembroke woman was yesterday fined more than $5,000 for traffic-related offences.
Jerrika Jacobs was also banned from driving for two years by Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo.
Yesterday she admitted in Magistrates’ Court to driving without a licence, driving an unlicensed car and driving without insurance on October 28 and November 3.
For the October offences she was fined $100, $750 and $1,000 respectively. She was fined an additional $450 for driving without due care.
Mr Tokunbo fined her $300, ,$1,000 and $2000 respectively for the November charges.
Jacobs requested more time to pay, saying she had three children to feed.
Mr Tokunbo gave Jacobs until February 28 to pay the $5,600.
He also ordered her to pay an additional $750 in outstanding traffic fines by that same date.
