Absolute discharge for cursing shop manager

A homeless woman who admitted cursing at a store manager when he asked her to leave, was given an absolute discharge when she appeared in Magistrates' Court.

Pamela Crockwell, 60, pleaded guilty to using offensive words, namely "F*** you, I can go in there if I want to", last Thursday.

The court heard Crockwell was standing outside Arnold's grocery store, on Front Street, when the manager explained she had been banned from entering. Crockwell began cursing and throwing her arms in an aggressive manner and the store manager called the Police.

When officers arrived at the scene they asked Crockwell for her details, to which she replied: "Who do you think you are talking to b****"." In court Crockwell apologised for the offence and said: "I am sorry, it won't happen again. I am sure of that."

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo gave her an absolute discharge and urged her not to appear back before the courts again.
