Alleged unruly passenger leaves for UK under Police guard
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 9: The woman whose alleged unruly behaviour caused a Caribbean-bound flight to be diverted here this week, was yesterday escorted back to the UK by Bermuda officers.
The 45-year-old was on a Thomson Airways flight from Manchester, England to the Dominican Republic when it is alleged she became unruly and violent.
The flight was diverted to L.F. Wade International Airport, where the woman was arrested and detained.
Said a Police spokesperson: “On the advice of the [Department of Public Prosecutions], the matter was referred to the Police in the UK and arrangements were made to repatriate the prisoner.”
The woman left the Island on a commercial flight via the US, yesterday afternoon.
The spokesperson continued: “They arrived in Manchester this morning and she was immediately taken into custody by Manchester Police officers who have now taken over the investigation. The Bermuda Police Service will continue to provide all necessary support to the Manchester Police in their investigation.”
