Premier Dr. Ewart Brown yesterday paid tribute to Barbados Prime Minister David Thompson, who died of cancer this weekend.
Mr. Thompson, 48, died in his home early on Saturday following more than three months of illness. He had been diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer in September.
"David Thompson was a personal friend, an ally of Bermuda and a major figure in Caribbean politics," said Dr. Brown. "I will cherish the memories of working beside him at Caricom Heads of Government meetings.
"Our condolences are extended to his family, and to the many Barbadians who make their home in Bermuda." Obituary: Page 8
