A collision on Monday night on Middle Road in Southampton put a 22-year-old man in Intensive Care at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

The Southampton resident was riding a motorcycle when he hit a truck near the junction with Granaway Lane.

The accident happened around 6.30pm. Police reported the injured man's condition as stable.

The truck driver, a 57-year-old Sandys man, was unhurt.

For the week that ended on Monday, a total of 21 collisions causing injuries were reported, plus 26 damage-only collisions, seven arrests on suspicion of impaired driving, and a total of 24 auxiliary cycles or motorcycles reported stolen — five of which were later recovered.
