Breakaway politician denies charge of impaired driving

A member of the Island's newest political party has pleaded not guilty to driving while impaired.Sean Pitcher, 47, appeared in Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, where he also denied refusing to gave a breath sample to Police. A St. George's resident, Mr. Pitcher was allegedly driving along Kindley Field Road when he was stopped by officers on July 30.The former United Bermuda Party chairman resigned from the party earlier this month alongside MPs Shawn Crockwell, Donte Hunt and Mark Pettingill, along with Senator Michael Fahy.

The group has set out to form a new, as of yet unnamed, political party.
Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner released Pitcher on $1,000 bail. He is expected to appear for trial in Magistrates' Court on December 10.
