Crowds gather at the airport to see fighter jets
British fighter jets drew the crowds as they touched down at LF Wade International Airport yesterday.
Eight Royal Air Force Tornado jets and three fuel tankers two VC10 and one Lockheed L-1011 Tristar, landed for an overnight crew rest and refuelling.
An airport spokesman said: "There were crowds lined all around the perimeter fence.
"The first plane arrived at 1.28 p.m. and the last at 3.43 p.m. I understand they are heading to a US airforce base on manoeuvres.
"They are beautiful planes and attracted a lot of attention."
The aircraft are thought to be en route from RAF Brize Norton in the UK.
Six RAF Tornado jets visited the Island a fortnight ago to deliver supplies to the Bermuda Regiment and take part in a training mission.
The latest contingent are due to leave this morning between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.
