Jefferis receives praise from Senator Dunkley
Hotelier John Jefferis has received praise from an unlikely source after winning a World Travel Award for his Tobago property.
Shadow Tourism Minister Michael Dunkley — who recently accused Mr. Jefferis of receiving a golden handshake from Government — yesterday drew a line under the pair's feud by asking the Senate to send him a letter of congratulations.
Reflecting on the World Travel Award accolade, Senator Dunkley told the Upper House: "Obviously Mr. Jefferis has invested a great deal of money into Tobago. He's receiving some recognition for that. Hopefully he can bring that success to Bermuda."
Earlier this month, when the Senator questioned Coco Reefs owner Mr. Jefferis' relationship with Government, Mr. Jefferis hit back by calling for his resignation as Shadow Minister and labelling him "idle", "idiotic" and "ignorant".
