Man in intensive care after attack
A 19-year-old Devonshire man, who was attacked by two or three young men with a blunt object on Thursday has been moved to the intensive care unit.
The man, who was also punched and kicked about the body was first thought to have only minor injuries but has taken a turn for the worse, Police say.
Police responded to the scene where the man was assaulted on Woodlawn Road in Sandys, near the junction with Middle Road, at around 1 p.m. on Thursday.
Inquires are underway and Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to contact PC Gregory Battersbee on 295-0011.
Drivers arrested
Fifteen people were arrested for suspicion of drunk driving over the weekend.
Of the 15 arrested, two passed the alco-analyser test and two refused to take it.
Two of those who did take the test registered more than four times the legal limit of alcohol in their blood. The legal limit is 80mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood; they registered 337mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood and 344mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood respectively.
There were also three reported burglaries, 10 reported damage only traffic collisions, six traffic collisions resulting in injury and one vehicle reported stolen.
