Police issue more details about missing Frenchman

Medhi Yahi

Missing Frenchman Medhi Yahi is thought to have been escorted off the stage at a Heather Nova concert shortly before he disappeared.

Mr. Yahi — described by Police as an "exuberant fan" but not thought to be a stalker — jumped on stage and put down some flowers at the Fairmont Southampton at about 8 p.m. on Saturday, officers believe.

He has not been seen since, although some of his personal belongings were found on the beach at Chaplin Bay, Warwick, at about 9.10 a.m. on Monday.

Police are continuing to search for Mr. Yahi and have now been in contact with his family as well as France's Honourary Consul in Bermuda and appropriate overseas authorities and agencies.

A thorough search of the coastline by land- and marine-based Police units on Monday, a search by land-based Police units on Tuesday, and a search of Mr. Yahi's guest accommodations have all failed to find the 30-year-old.

Officers say they would like to thank people who have come forward with information so far, but are repeating their call for help, particularly from those who were at the concert and may have taken photographs with their cell phone.

Mr. Yahi is described as white, 5ft 7 ins, of slim build, clean shaven and with black hair. He was travelling alone. Anyone who can help should call Police on 295-0011.
