Two men have been arrested in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a five-year-old girl, Police have revealed.

The attack happened during the daytime on Friday but a Police spokesman was unwilling to give any other details last night.

""I can confirm that two men were arrested in connection with the matter and were subsequently released on Police bail," he said. "Inquiries are ongoing."

ZBM television news quoted the child's father as urging the community to step forward with information. He was reported to have said the light had gone out of his little girl's eyes.
