Public can see Duchess
Members of the public are being invited to witness a once in a quarter of a century event
In less than a week's time the Duchess of Gloucester will arrive in Bermuda, where her primary focus will be to be present new Regimental Colours to the Bermuda Regiment.
This event happens only once every 25 years and according to a Government spokeswoman the public is invited to attend the free occasion on Saturday November 13 at the National Sports Centre, in Devonshire.
"Both local and international dignitaries will be in attendance to enjoy the pomp and pageantry of the Bermuda Regiment Band and Corp of Drums, and Guard of Honour as they parade their new Colours.
"Proceedings commence at 11 a.m. but onlookers are encouraged to be seated by 10.30 a.m. In the case of wet weather, the ceremony will take place in the Cathedral."
During her visit to Bermuda, from November 11 to 14, Her Royal Highness, in her role as Colonel-in-Chief of the Bermuda Regiment, will also undertake several other activities such as planting a symbolic tree at Government House; meeting with Bermuda's Under-14 footballers and local sporting legend Clyde Best; touring Warwick Camp; visiting with members of St. John Ambulance Brigade; attending a ceremonious reception at Commissioner's House, Dockyard and a visit on Sunday morning to King's Square, St. George.
