A final exercise to prepare Regiment soldiers for their overseas camp in Jamaica will take place this weekend.

Ex March Madness will include all elements of the Bermuda Regiment and will primarily take place in St George's and the surrounding area.

Commanding Officer, Lt. Col. Brian Gonsalves said: "Ex March Madness is designed to ensure that all those elements of the Regiment participating in this year's overseas training exercise are prepared and equipped to carry out their training objectives effectively."

Members of Alpha Company, supported by Support and Quartermasters Companies, will be participating in conventional training in Ferry Reach, while Training Company will be manning Key Point facilities between St George's and Devonshire.

Captain Julian Wheddon, Training Officer, added: "In addition to Ex March Madness, select sides from all five Companies will be competing in the annual tournament on Sunday for the Regiment Football Trophy." The football tournament will be held in Warwick Camp.

The Regiment said it was asking members of the public to use caution as there will be exercises involving firing and pyrotechnics in and around Ferry Point, as well as intermittent vehicle check points established through out the training areas.
