A Sandys Parish man was remanded into custody after he was charged with sexual assault.

The 43-year-old pleaded not guilty in Magistrates' Court to sexually assaulting a woman on October 20, causing bodily harm.

Neither the defendant nor the victim can be named for legal reasons.

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner ordered the defendant to be held in custody until his trial, which is scheduled for February 15.
