Tiger books his spot!
Tiger Woods, arguably the best man ever to play the game of golf, is on his way to Bermuda.
In an enthralling US Open which was extended to five days and 91 holes, Woods claimed his 14th major yesterday, defeating the affable Rocco Mediate on the first hole of sudden-death after the two Americans had finished all-even in an 18-hole play-off.
As winner of the season's second major, Woods booked his place in October's PGA Grand Slam of Golf which will be played at Mid Ocean Club for the second successive year.
The Slam features the winners of the season's four major tournaments, and although Woods missed last year's event he has already promised he would play this year, providing he qualified.
He joins South African Trevor Immelman who won the Masters in April. And they in turn will be joined by the winners of the British Open next month and the PGA Championship in August to complete the four-player Grand Slam field.
