TS Colin is now a threat to the Island

Tropical Storm Colin is heading to the Island this weekend, bringing winds up to 35 knots.Bermuda Weather Service issued a special advisory notice at 8 p.m. last night stating that Colin was a threat to the Island.The storm was 417 nautical miles south of Bermuda at that point, with its closest point of approach due tomorrow at 11 p.m. when it is expected to come 90 nautical miles to the west north west.

Bermuda Weather Service issued a special advisory notice at 8 p.m. last night stating that Colin was a threat to the Island.

The storm was 417 nautical miles south of Bermuda at that point, with its closest point of approach due tomorrow at 11 p.m. when it is expected to come 90 nautical miles to the west north west.

A Weather Service spokesman said Colin could have winds as high as 50 knots but added: "We are only expecting up to 34 or 35 knots. We are not expecting to be impacted by those 50 knot winds."

The online forecast for tomorrow says to expect overcast weather with rain and showers, the risk of thunderstorms and strong gusts to gale force.
