Views from amongst the crowd
Teenagers Ryan Burrows and David Selley, both 18, carried a banner asking: 'Brown what about the future?'. Ryan said they decided to demonstrate because of "the youth coming up in the future".
"Bermuda has gone downhill," he said. "It's just the way the country is being run, the education system."
David said: "There are many other people that would do it better than him. The Guantanamo Bay detainees set it off. That was the final straw."
Rachael Gosling held a banner which read: 'No more lies, tricks and deceptions'.
She said: "My husband and I just feel very, very strongly that the most important people who must follow the law are the leaders of the country. If everybody else breaks the law they will be dealt with by the law. If the leader breaks the law and there are no consequences, it's like a death knell for democracy in the country."
Michael Markham, a PLP member, said the protesters were looking for a "Bermudian Obama".
"They want a black leader that can represent them," he said. "I think that it may be the time to have a discussion about the politics of race. I think the detainees are pawns in an international political game between the left wing and the right wing."
Calvin Worrell said: "I have been confused by the way certain things have been handled over the years. I have objected but not openly. By being here I have added my presence to the numbers. There are too many events and incidents and I have objected to them silently. Basically, I came to be a part of the number and show the strength of feeling."
Samantha Gosling, 20, said: "I came here with my mom and my sister and want to protest what we believe in because we are not very happy with what's been happening lately. We've never been happy with what's been happening in the Government lately.
"What's happened was the last straw for a lot of Bermudians and a lot of people want to act out on it to make a point that we are not happy."
Krystle DeSilva, 25, said: "I'm here to protest against the fact that Premier Brown is still in power. It has nothing to do with race, it has nothing to do with what party I'm for, it's the fact that he has deceived all of Bermuda and we should be the ones to know what's going on with our country."
Floyd Pitcher, 47, said: "I'm here to protect democracy and I feel that the demonstration that we just had was exactly that. The people are upset with the leadership style of our present leader and it seems that the country is being run like a personal fiefdom and we deserve better."
Choy Aming, 34, said: "I came out today to express my opinion that I'm not really happy with the present leadership of Dr. Brown. I like the fact that everybody came out and that is the key issue.
"The fact that he made such a bad decision that borders on international incident just doesn't sit well with me. And it saddens me as a Bermudian because I've travelled to 56 countries and I think that we have the best country in the world and I think we can get it right and be an example for the rest of the world.
"It's just so sad when we make such ridiculously bad decisions. I'm just here to say 'Brown Out and Cox In'."
