At 22, Alex Dill has taken his passion and talent for film and turned it into his own successful business.

Five years ago Alex started New-Atlantic Films, a video production company that he has built a name for with several high profile clients.

Currently he is busy filming the third installment of the popular reality television show 'The Bermuda 100 Day Challenge', but he also filmed the first and second Challenges, editing the first season himself.

"I am quite proud of the work I did for the Bermuda 100 Day Challenge," he said. "I was 19 or 20 at the time of the first season and I filmed and edited much of it.

"It was Bermuda's first reality television show and I am glad that I had a part in it.

"It is a lot of work though. If they have to be at the gym working out at seven in the morning I need to be there to film it, but I have enjoyed getting to know the contestants and watch their progress."

Alex's portfolio contains more than just television shows. He has created TV commercials, corporate videos, documentaries, music videos and much more.

And while he has achieved a lot for his age, he says that he will not rest on his laurels.

"I know that there is a lot more to do," he said. "I am not complete, these are still the experimental stages. I want to get bigger and better. The ideas are endless, it is just a matter of putting them into action."

Additionally Alex is taking courses at the Bermuda College and working toward his degree in business. Getting a degree, he said, can act as a spring board toward other opportunities.

"Eventually I would like to start producing my own content," said Alex. "But I don't want to limit myself yet, there are other career paths that interest me. I am also interested in the medical field and working with animals. I volunteer for St. John's Ambulance and the SPCA."

While he works long and unusual hours to accommodate his clients, according to Alex it is the creative side of the job and the gratification he gets from the finished product that keeps him going.

"For a 30-second TV commercial it can take more than eight hours of filming and to have a finished product that is one hour long can take over 80 hours of editing.

"But it is the creative touch you put on a product and the sense of achievement when that product is finished that are really gratifying. And although I have to work some holidays and weekends I find the time."
